WikiPilots:Privacy policy
From WikiPilots
I will never sell your personal identifying information to other parties. All information which you post as public information however will remain public, and IP's may be made public when you post anonymously.
Sometimes there are circumstances outside of my control (such as if the site gets compromised) which may affect your privacy, however, if that occurs, I will notify you with a post to the front page (and that's a guarantee. Unlike many other sites which will never tell you).
At the end of the day, the best privacy policy is to use anonymous information. You should always take your own steps to protect your personal info, not just here, but on other websites.
What information is logged?
The following information about users may be logged:
- Your IP address
- The address of Webpages accessed, and time of accessed (only within WikiPilots)
- Revisions of all information posted to wikipilots are maintained (even if you post personal information publicly accidentally such as your address). For permanent removal, you may need to speak to an administrator.
- All information sent from your browser, such as browser type, resolution of display and operating system
What may be made public?
No information which can personally identify you will be sold. Information you choose to make public though will be made public, and general statistics such as most commonly used browsers to access this site may be. I will use common sense.. If your spouse demands I send her a list of which pages you have accessed within WikiPilots for instance, I wont comply.
Are there exceptions?
Yes, although, a common sense one. If you post illegal photography or information, your personal info will probably go straight to police..
